Doesn't it feel good to write "President-Elect Obama"? I'm still adjusting to the idea.

Ha ha, it does feel great. I was watching MSNBC this morning and noticed a friend of the president-elect kept saying "Barack" and then immediately correcting himself to say "President-Elect Obama."

It was a truly great night. An honorable, gracious concession from McCain and one of the great orations of American history from a man whom I still have to pinch myself to believe is going to be our next president.

By the way, if your readers aren't as sick of politics as I am, they can check out the survey of my election series, reviews of important documentaries on relevant issues and narrative films about politics, here: http://thedancingimage.blogspot.com/2008/11/election-overlook.html

The Dancing Image returns to its usual litany tomorrow with a review of The Magnificent Ambersons.

Keep up the great work here, T.S., though perhaps you should leave this picture and text up top for a few days just to savour (no pun intended) the victory.

Glad he won, we really need a change in this country. I hope the best for him

Yes, a fabulous night. I spent many hours handling out political literature and stapling signs on telephone poles for him and Democratic party. I backed him in the primary against Hillary Clinton, so this was so sweet in more ways than one. I agree with you and your readers in celebrating this incomparable moment in American politics.
